    Captain America: Brave New World

Captain America: Brave New World is a disaster. There's no way around it. Not only boring and dull beyond belief, the new MCU film is also perhaps the most politically incoherent and yet cowardly thing they have ever done. Scandal-plagued and now critically derided upon release, the MCU has denied reports of nigh-infinite reshoots and reedits but the film onscreen and its incompetence show otherwise. More-so, it is obvious in its remnants the MCU intended to create an ambitious and…

    ★★★★★

A childhood favorite, Soylent Green towers above nearly all dystopias in film. Its vision of a failed future is curiously un-apocalyptic on the surface and instead shows a contemporary world not just stagnant but ever so slightly deteriorating and retrogressing. Heretic

A 100 minute breadtube lecture cosplaying as a horror movie. Ironically, it is also deeply reactionary and nihilist and unknowingly so. A painfully didactic and self-absorbed experience that would only be insightful to middle class teenagers going through a ‘rebellious phase’. A24 continues their downward spiral. The only saving grace are its performers, they’re going places.

    Schindler's List

    ★★

Spielberg minimizes one of the most horrifying events in history for profit and prestige. The perspective of the film constantly sides with the nazis, valuing their world view over those about to be murdered. When Spielberg does shift perspective, it is facile and even stereotypical. All of the oppressed in the film are regulated to the background and thus their torment is not truly felt or understood. The shower scene is astonishingly exploitative in how the emotional reaction being prodded…
