feels like we're being asked to participate in the dehumanization of a woman who was tortured and raped by her father for god knows how many decades. the camera only ever interacts with her as a creature, not someone whose entire life has been suffering at other people's hands.
okay sure, jason long and the man who stole those women were foils, but that feminist frame of reference doesn't fit with the rest of the narrative because the rest of the narrative is wholeheartedly interacting with this poor woman as if she's less than human, just like her father did
