Really two movies- the first one was so delicate and moving. The second was much more standard save-the-world. Both movies were well done, it’s just the first one was more resonant for me.
Also those animals are going to have to return to eating each other at some point!

I mean Bogie and Bacall!
I love this book and Raymond Chandler in general. Not sure why they paid William Faulkner to write on the screenplay since all the best lines are lifted directly from the novel and the plot restructuring is quite tortured. The changes only supply fan service for Bogie and Bacall and avoid trouble with the Hays Code.
Lots of great minor characters. Many men in the novel are gender flipped for the movie. I feel like that…
