All throughout this film, I kept saying to myself “I wish this was the sort of relationship I had with my father.” I couldn’t help but be jealous of all the things that Calum and Sophie did together because I knew they were things that me and my father never did. The relationship onscreen looked so foreign yet so familiar, and for the longest time I wasn’t much at all affected by it.
But then came the Under Pressure scene…

Well I have been reduced to a puddle of tears. I sobbed twice, but that still hasn’t beaten my record of three times during Jojo Rabbit.

Exceeding my expectations once again. This movie isn’t an obvious ripoff of The Witch at all, much to my utmost surprise. If anything, the first part of this film is almost a more accessible version of The Witch, and I clearly don’t know what to do with this information.
