  good books are difficult to translate into film. this is why as an avid fan of James Baldwin, I wasn’t sure if his brilliant style of writing could have the same effect in a movie. however, I was more than pleasantly surprised. the chemistry between Tish and Fonny were undeniable, the way looked at one another and talked to each other was pure love… it was the kind of love that reached out through the screen and wrapped you up…
