  This one was honestly super strange. So the intent was clearly to criticize the type of incel who became a big joker fan, and while it definitely did that, the movie didn’t really explore why anyone would ever relate to the joker in the first place. Like at least the first movie shows that people are attracted to him because of socioeconomic conditions in Gotham and a general feeling of corruption, whereas here it’s literally never addressed. I just feel…

  This is definitely the funniest Miyazaki movie I’ve seen, and the surreal humor of children jumping up and down with excitement to be kidnapped by pirates is surprisingly modern. I do wish we could see the final battle with the Italian Air Force, but I get that’s not really the point of the movie. Super super fun movie.
