It's fine. Takes it foot off the accelerator for no real reason about halfway through and Cage isn't terribly consequential here with his role being almost a non sequitur. And he does overact, with Monroe underacting. Creepy in the right places but never cuts loose instead opting for a deus ex machina revelation. Nightmare as seen through a child's eye. The creepy house at 3 a.m., the anomalous noises, television glare etc. Problem is you're stuck in this. With very little variation other than objects on a wall, misplaced furniture and some malevolent unseen force, these three things are simply rotated around to stultifying effect. Would possibly play better as a short film (say 20-30 minutes) and even then it would seem unlikely a director would be able to stretch it into anything noteworthy

There's not much to this thing but it is max comfy. Just a guy living life in a small hawaiian village surrounded by lovable characters. The locations are beautiful and peaceful and a joy to look at. Probably could've watched 4 hours of this. I want to live in this movie
