My parents had been recommending this to me for years and years and I wish I watched it sooner. The way the surrealist imagery works in service to the plot as a psychological glance into Juliet, and in stark contrast with the 60s domesticity and mannered nature of everything else is so good—it sort of has the same vibe as a Magritte painting, like a train barreling out of a fireplace.
