  The folk horror vibes are there, and it’s all well crafted - I just wish it did a better job with the full revelation of the evil past the way the novel did. The lore doesn’t just feel minimally explained, it’s not fully considered. I probably would have liked it more on its own without having that comparison of the novel but that’s how it goes.
