Sonic is now an alien, eggman is no longer egg-shaped, and sonic’s legacy of excellent music has been replaced with another forgettable orchestral film score. The only thing that can save this movie franchise is some kind of wedding taking up half of the next movie.

The Sonic series is often praised for its excellent music, something which the first two films appeared to forget existed at all. Sonic 3 breaks the sonic film mould by actually using music from the source material, instead of forgettable film score slop.
I had to take away half a ring for the lack of side-character weddings.

As I reclined into my sticky theatre chair and let my feet sink into a sea of discarded popcorn I couldn’t but wonder why the sonic series was so curiously absent of characters I don’t care about getting married. You can imagine my joy when this appeared to be the primary focus of Sonic 2. In fact, I don’t even remember the rest of the film.
