The utterly gorgeous costume design had me feral throughout, my primordial Pinterest brain was feasting good. I'm convinced this is the only live-action Disney remake to surpass its animated original.

The Super Mario Bros. Movie 2023
Fun! Does a pretty great job coalescing the gibberish themes of Super Mario into a cohesive world, even if the story is thinly written and inexplicable at times. Some pretty inspired voice casting choices - Chris Pratt does fine as Mario but Charlie Day was born to play Luigi.
The sequel needs to have Wario as an opportunistic charlatan claiming to have been there stomping koopas at ground zero.

Problemista 2023
A cute, deadpan, whimsical comedy in a similar vein to The Science of Sleep or Gentlemen Broncos, sharing their colourful imagination but also their stilted awkwardness. It confronts the increasingly unliveable impositions of our modern world with some lovingly-crafted metaphorical vignettes, absurd toys and surreal artworks that aren't really as clever or inspiring as I wanted them to be. There is an endearing heart to Julio Torres' film, I just wish it had a bit more to say about surviving capitalism than "become a problem".
