Denis Villeneuve is steadily overtaking Christopher Nolan as my favourite director. Despite rewatching Nolan's Batman trilogy and Interstellar recently.
Sicario is a tale of the clandestine dealings and operations undertaken by the US military to try and establish a semblance of order in the drug trade. What's frightening is the events that transpire in this film are all to familiar a story, compared to similar missions various US agencies have done in the last few decades.

I missed the first 5 minutes or so because of train complications, but honestly it didn't matter. I arrived just as Batman had his reveal to the criminals, and I was hooked. Just pure, visceral, deranged, violence. As Schaffrillas fantastically put it, The Batman shows a tortured Bruce Wayne better than any other interpretation I have seen.

It's been a while since I watched Spectre and Skyfall, and having not seen Quantum of Solace or Casino Royale I wasn't quite sure what to expect.
In hindsight it reminded me quite a bit of Mission Impossible: Fallout, but slightly more complex. Rami Malek was an excellent villain, but not quite as creepy as Javier Bardem.
