Hooptober 11: 31/31
I am a huge fan of this kind of dreamlike Italian horror and The Sect definitely delivers. There is an air of mystery around this one that never really dissipates throughout. Not the best Italian horror from this era, but definitely one of the higher up ones.
Hooptober 11: 30/31
We had a friend recommend this one to us for our Hooptober list. I am so glad they did - this was a wild ride. I was a little confused throughout the movie, but they do a good job of catching the audience up when big reveals happen. The ending makes the runtime worth it, so if you're afraid of a 3 hour movie, this is worth it.
What a beautiful piece of film. This movie contains so much of what I love about trashy horror. It has dark jokes, a decent splash of gore, nonsensical plot points, and Dennis Hopper dual-wielding chainsaws against Leatherface.

Ok, so I was dreading this one. I feel like most Hooptober criteria I can remember has some sort of "word _______ that you haven't seen" and they are almost always a rough watch.
