A surprisingly solid watch. Jack Quaid is quickly becoming a really great physical comedy actor. I don’t think most actors could do what Novocaine asks JQ to do.

Solid time. I think a good date night movie tbh

Also, Ray Nicholson is popping up in absolutely everything recently. This, Smile 2, and Borderline, all within 12 months is crazy.

Also also, “They didn’t have to dress it up all sexy, in like fishnets” is one of my favorite movie lines in years.

Also also also, it should be spelling novAcaine

I liked this a lot more on the 10th go-around than the first. Still has some issues related to it being a tv show first, but the songs are good mostly, the movie still looks good, and I do like a lot of the action in it.

I just wonder how good this could’ve been had it started out as a movie. The filler and the clear episodic-ness of the plot definitely drags this down

Been meaning to see this for a long time and finally got the chance on the big screen and WOW I’ve been missing out. This movie is PHENOMENAL. The fight scenes are so goddamn good, even with all the goofy flying stuff going on.

There’s a couple nitpicky things I can point out, especially how long it takes to get to most of the fight scenes, but the movie definitely overcomes that when it kicks off.

Also, I think I fell in love with 2000 Ziyi Zhang (and probably 2023 version of her too)

    Consecration

    ★★½

My wife being devout Catholic has really pushed me into watching (and thoroughly enjoying) catholic horror these last few years. Even the bad ones (I’m looking at you Prey For The Devil) I find something to enjoy, even if it’s just the knockoff novelty of it trying to be The Exorcism. That’s not what Consecration is going for at all, but it finds its own little niche that I enjoyed.

I’ve seen a lot of reviews talk about how slow…
