Of all the little bad moments in this movie, the one that really lost me was when the child started singing about how Emilia smells like her dad. I don’t know why cis directors never do research. It falls into the normal clichés of focusing too much on physical transition while also not representing it accurately. E.g., how many trans people get every surgery they’re going to at once? I didn’t, and I don’t know anyone who has.

The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2003
Definitely doesn't capture the abject horror of the original, but I don't think anything ever will, and for an unnecessary remake it's way better than it needs to be. I think this version or hitchhiker is much less unsettling than the original and the characters' introductions were pretty dull, but once it gets going the grimy setting, gore, and jump scares all really work for me.
