No wonder folks were baffled by this one in 1935. Look at the poster. Miss Hepburn looks like a wanton lady, tearing through the scheming rakes, silky ne'er do wells, nance princes and pock-marked rogues of the kingdom before claiming her fully emancipated dominion. The first thing you need to know about the movie is that, save "Saga Of Jenny," they cut all the tunes! Allure magazine editor "Liza Elliott" doesn't even sing "My Ship," which Ginger would've performed beautifully. She definitely would've killed with "One Life To Live."
