Brilliant music and inspired soundtrack by one of the world's best music people. It saved this story which I admit was already in the stage play. However the script editors on this really must have screamed at the massive holes in the logic. Didn't he have a nose too? If he loved his Dad I could understand! Even a musical must obey the basic rules of story and your characters still need to act as people would in real life…
Felt sorry for the older lady James had sex with in the first act. She seemed like quite a nice lady and never came back into the picture which might have been interesting.
This review may contain spoilers. I can handle the truth.
This film demonstrates a creative freedom long gone in films dictated by page number rules and cat saving. Interesting however, this film actually does stick to those rules. But made in the days when they were only known by a select few, Alfred Hitchcock being the top one. In fact he probably made up those Hollywood cat-saving rules.
I liked how this film was built on a big idea. What if? What if two strangers had a motif to kill?…
