One Cut of the Dead 2017
The most surprising family film of the last decade, devastatingly touching whilst uncompromisingly hilarious. Glad the twist wasn’t ruined for me before I watched it. The filmmakers clearly have a deep care for film and express this with such care without resorting to cheap nostalgia and references, creating such a refreshing experience. One Cut of the Dead proves that even with a small budget, miracles can be made.

The Lighthouse 2019
Now this is my kind of movie. A dark atmosphere, two of my all time favourite actors, fucking insane scenes and impeccable editing. But most of all, some of the greatest cinematography I have ever seen, each shot could be a painting on my wall. I'll be sure to watch Robert Eggers' The Witch too.
