    honestly wasn’t watching that intently cause i was playing a dice game but thought it was a good time! i saw the chloe grace moretz one first like a decade ago so i was familiar w the beats of the story.

    found some of the split screen stuff to be so silly and very aged. sissy spacek is so fucking charming it’s sad to watch her get so screwed over. she’s an angel

    i especially enjoyed the pretty unsentimental presentation of all of its characters. by never really trying to endear us to them through their actions, any emotional attachment the viewer generates for them is significantly less manufactured and subsequently more organic. i especially liked the characterization of ziggy: an incredibly insufferable dude on the outside (and maybe even on the inside) but his misplaced ideals are forgivable because of his desire to be better (even if it’s for the wrong reasons)…
