Quite terrible but laughably so, which adds an essential layer of redeemability. There is absolutely zero danger of stumbling, even by accident, into a semblance of competent filmmaking, acting, or storytelling, but the warbling jazz score and John Reynolds' twitchy and borderline drunken performance as Torgo are bewildering in the best ways.

Bernice Bobs Her Hair 1976
Delightful period piece - perfectly long, underhandedly funny, and punctuated by Duvall’s sensitive and wry performance as she navigates the precarious world of social hierarchy and desirability.

Daddy's Head 2024
Enigmatic and atmospheric, though otherwise glacial in its pacing and diminutive in its themes of coping with grief and reluctant parenthood. Sweeping shots of shadowy forest landscapes and a gliding camera supplement the mystery of the shapeshifting creature that itself benefits from a lithe and unnerving design, though each encounter is left feeling frustratingly unfulfilled. Ultimately, Daddy's Head suffers most from a feeble final confrontation and unsatisfying conclusion, never really transcending into anything greater than its visual presentation.

Officer Black Belt 2024
Save for some bruising fight sequences in its third act - marking a vast tonal departure from the lighthearted nature of what came earlier - Officer Black Belt was fairly innocuous and forgettable in its tamer moments and possibly even outright egregious at its worst. Primarily of which is the reductive portrayal of both sex offenders and victims that almost verges into caricature. It’s hard to buy into either the comedy or the emotional stakes when the villainy on display is this distasteful and exaggerated, while all female characters are treated purely as props for victimhood.
