  So cinematic. I see how it can be confusing if you haven’t read the book, but even knowing the twist I still really enjoyed the storytelling. Deserves Best Adapted Screenplay Oscar

  Some of the best acting I’ve seen tbh. The obsession and ugliness of interpersonal relationships as shown through Mark and Anna’s mutual self-annihilation made this film extremely captivating. I didn’t want to blink because I didn’t want to miss anything. Considering that it was autobiographical for Żuławski, this film was very brave.
