oh dear. I forgot how fucked this film is. even frodo and hulk are right weirdos.

Eternal Sunshine is one of the most impressive screenplays ever, perhaps the most to ever come out of Hollywood. every shot, every line, every tiny little motion is borderline perfection, not to mention the soundtrack fucks heavy. Jim Carey and Kate Winslet are both outstanding, and I think this is easily Carey's best performance.

This is obviously not an out and out romance, and…

This is now my 6th film from Lav Diaz, and whilst i definitely felt the runtime on this one, it is still a beautifully made film. Diaz is a director i have such admiration for, as his slow, immersive style is such a stark contrast to what the film ‘industry’ is producing today.

Hearing Diaz talk about film with such passion in his mubi interview is truly incredible, and in my eyes he is one of ( if not ) the best filmmaker currently working.

Another phenomenal film from one of the all time greats Béla Tarr. As with most of his films, I feel like a rewatch is definitely needed to fully comprehend everything that is going on. Regardless, the filmmaking is flawless and the score is great, which seems to be a common theme of Tarr’s films. Genuinely cannot wait to watch Sátántangó.
