  i watched the first 40 minutes of this with some girls from profs in an empty classroom, the middle 45 on the train/bus home, and the final 45 at home (my dad joined after the sauna scene). i would’ve liked to learn a bit more about patrick and art, there were a lot of stylistic choices i STRONGLY disliked, and this is kinda offensive to actual tennis but… it’s hot. and you’ve gotta respect tashi, who does it all for the love of the game.

  i’m supposed to believe callum turner ages like that? and he’s a natural blonde? crazy if true… this was really cheesy and superficial and White (which the jesse owens cameo only served to emphasise), but i do love sports movies! also, all those hitler peeps were hilarious, fuck nazis!

  what if, despite everything, despite our best efforts, we turn out to be good! what a beautiful thought! watching this, i forgot that i was watching something. i forgot myself. as if to prove something, i cried (just a little) at the end. my only quips are that it's a little odd for ayoade to play indian, this is remarkably similar to doctor strange, and this is how i feel when i play blackjack (time to hit the cas!)
