  Costume, design, cinematography, score, lighting, concept 10/10

  Count Orlock genuinely scary. 

  References were well placed and a treat to recognise. 

  But... 

  
  If you're going to go full sexual blood drinking with Ellen I want the same lore for the boys. 

  Knock shoulda been ussin' and umming too. 

  Also... 

  Some brilliant performances - one performance I felt was physically impressive but by all other accounts unconvincing and at times grating. A shame.

  Yes it’s riddled with problems. Yes Keira Knightley is 17. Yes the secretary is not fat. Yes, Colin Firth can’t even speak the same language as his maid. Yes Alan Rickman is unseasonably evil and Emma Thompson crying to Joni Mitchell altered all our brain chemistry’s.  But it’s Christmas and I can’t be asked to argue.
