A chaotic, cynical and bombastic look at coming of age as a transgender person, framed in the “Batverse”. It explores abusive relationships, parental and romantic, their long term effects, and finding your place in the world while other people try to define who you are to protect their own comfortability.

I Saw the TV Glow 2024
I sat with this movie for days after seeing it. I have never felt so seen by a piece of media before. It is not physically horrific, nor is it suspenseful in a traditional sense. The horror lies in how relatable and personal Owen’s emotional experiences are; in its honesty and vulnerability and how deeply relatable it is. The suspense lies in Owen’s struggle.
There is still time.

We're All Going to the World's Fair 2021
It’s kind of a found/web footage exploration of teenage angst and depression and while some themes were relatable, I can’t decide if it was allegorical or literal, but I think that was kind of the point. Much like “I Saw The TV Glow”, it relies on visual and somewhat disjointed story telling rather than a direct narrative, leaving a lot open to interpretation. Overall it seems to be a commentary on modern youth internet culture and its impact on mental health.
