Labyrinth 1986
Labyrinth carries a lot of the charm synonymous with the creatives that put it together - particularly with regard to visual storytelling. Most of this charm however, fades without the support of a strong enough script. Scenes feel vastly underwritten, whilst plot holes practically gape at the viewer. I’m of the opinion that “it’s an experience” is no excuse for this. Unfortunately, this showcase of the Henson companies marvellous technical ability ends up reeking of potential, more than anything else.…

About Time 2013
Ironically My father absolutely ruined this film for me. He pointed out that the first hour is the single most eye scratchingly Richard Curtis thing ever and that GLEESON is literally a beat for beat Hugh Grant replacement. The narration especially. Once you realise it’s exactly the same as Grant does in Love Actually, Notting Hill, Four Weddings etc.. you’ll never enjoy it again.
