  This film was 3 hour and 40 minutes of reliving the deepest lie of my childhood.

  As someone who grew up in the Deep South and was in the center of Lost Cause mythology, this movie was a play by play of how I was told the South was before the “War of Northern Aggression”. It was a land of “grace and plenty”, where “gallantry” was the mark of the hearts of all men - and then the North ruined…
