A story about how a boy continues living in a world of sadness and grief - poignant, beautiful as any other Studio Ghibli film, and an enjoyable watch. The hospital fire ptsd flashback and Mahito finding Natsuko for the first time in the tower scenes are my personal favourites, for their creative design and emotion respectively.
Something that this film is really good at is enjoying periods of quiet, relying on the action of the scene and the beautiful score…
