When making a short film, you’re always at a bit of a disadvantage from a storytelling perspective since you have so much less time with the characters. Because of this, the best shorts often embrace the medium in ways a feature never could. Films like Possibilia by Daniels, Seances by Guy Maddin, and Wavelength by Michael Snow come to mind. I’d definitely put this project in that category. I’ve never seen anything quite like it, yet it feels so intuitive that you almost kick yourself for not thinking of it first. Easily worth your 13 minutes.
