  If i had seen this 10 years ago it probably would’ve been my favorite movie of all time. The voyeuristic style speaks to me loudly. Regardless of its being rehearsed & scripted I still love any raw exploration of the human experience.

  Such a solid hard-boiled detective story but feels more emotionally forward than most… <3 A common thread thru BJH films. His voice is so distinctive. 
  The IMMEDIATE characterization and utilization of chaos as a character all its own — so smart. I would find it hard to believe True D didn’t take any inspiration from this. And many others tbh. Very special.

  Um! It’s been a long time since I’ve gone to see new releases in the theater consistently and MAN am I getting sick of the high-production-value-low-substance combo meal. Definitely had some great action moments (zero gravity acid blood tunnel yas), but it was all action, and most of the moments that qualified as horror were just shock-value gross. And I love gross! But not like this!
  I also did not like or understand the giant baby man!

  Deserves another watch.

  say it with me: upside down 👏🏻 blood spill 👏🏻 into the eyeball 👏🏻 

  So many “oh shit they went there!” sfx moments that were as understated as they were gruesome.  

  Even if the story was confusing, it wasn’t ineffective, or badly told. It just felt like I didn’t have all the information. Like, as if it were Cuckoo 2 and we accidentally watched it first. Luckily it didn’t disconnect the characters from their humanity, so it was still engaging. Much innovative filmmaking to be seen.

  Hunter is exceptional.
