  A strong performance from Maika Monroe (from the also excellent It Follows). Nic Cage manages to pitch his contribution at the "insane and disturbing" level without descending into farce. An interesting ending!

  Watched this again and I think it's actually better the second time around. A great movie, rivalling his later work Jojo Rabbit and a little similar in style.

  This was a very silly movie. No plot to speak of, just a series of increasingly preposterous action set pieces in which Jovovich et al beat the hell out of human, superhuman and undead alike. This film would probably have been about 7 minutes long if they had run all the sections of bullet time at normal speed.

  However, it's not like you weren't prepared for that when you sat down to watch the sequel of a sequel of a.. of a video game. So, I got pretty much what I expected and if you have the same expectations then you probably won't be disappointed.
