He suspected his wife of monkey business, now he's got a real chi(m)p on his shoulder!

I always said if I could live in one cinematic universe it would be Dazed and Confused but being a resident of Summerisle is obviously a very close second.

If this was made maybe 7 or 8 years earlier I could have seen it being in young Jim's canon. As it is, this passed by first time around but, I still get a contact nostalgia high from this sort of shit. Love the Paper Rad-esque opening credits (the best bit of the film?) and although it's just an escalation of silly, stoned predicaments, Anna Faris does a lot of heavy lifting and gives a cracking performance that manages to stay on the right side of annoying for the full film.

Nothing says 'classy gialli' like topless ballet.
Sure it's a very by the numbers, black glove wearing, straight-edged razor, throat slashing giallo with the usual twists and turns but it's adequately made and fun enough.
Bonus points for the curb crawling police captain that made me actually guffaw.

Like going to a fancy restaurant where everything looks and smells* delicious but as soon as you come out you head straight in to your local kebab shop.

One time, when was much younger, I was on a trip and was convinced I'd invented egg mayonnaise. I was confused and annoyed when I bought a sandwich from the 24 hr supermarket and couldn't understand how they'd packaged my idea that I'd literally just invented. What I'm trying to say is, I totally buy into the concept of this film.
