Midsommar 2019
Some of the only cinematography that has ever successfully recreated the feeling of the high highs and low lows of psychedelic hallucinations. It’s uncanny valley has an amount of nuance to it that feels distinctly realistic. It eases you into its cringe inducing bits and hits you square in the jaw with some stomach dropping body horror. At times I felt extremely uncomfortable, and at others couldn’t help but laugh. A great film, held back only by some lackluster acting from a select few of the cast.
