  This is what cinéma is, a tool of thinking. These are clearly Alan Resnais thoughts, ideas... It's an essay. As cinema, it combines the sound (music, narrator) with the images (past and present, photographs, videos), and there is always, throughout the movie, an active relationship between them, changing and giving new meanings and layers to themselves constantly.
  This is a beautiful exemple (it's a great movie about its subject) of what cinema should be. If not, it is pointless to…
