the power of the film was obviously in the relationships between characters, which of course i loved, but their potency felt diluted by the plot and the ornamental style from time to time. technically it was a masterpiece and there were a lot of lovely metaphors and images, but for me only some of them served the film well and the rest were a distraction from the emotional through line. justin please don’t flame me in the comments
