The best one yet imo. I love me some Brad Bird and his action sequences are as glorious as ever. You can tell this was a real turning point for this series. When I started watching these films, THIS was the vibe I had imagined from the small amounts of cultural osmosis I a had absorbed in over the years. Last year, Longlegs divided friends, family, oomfs, and Letterboxd mutuals. I delight in very divisive movies because whether you find them good or bad, they are always much more interesting to engage with and talk/argue about. This wasn't entirely my vibe but it had enough going for it that I may revisit it in the future. That being said this movie that I had never even really heard people talk about has some of the saddest images in Spielberg's filmography. Jim Pumping his friends chest while he screams "I can bring back everyone" over and over again as the music swells.. to no avail. That part almost broke me
