Nothing truly awful, just incredibly generic. Despite the supposedly big stakes everything seems small because scenes are either against a green screen or in an anonymous office space. Feels like it belongs on Disney Plus and nowhere near a big screen.

Blood Diamond 2006
Strong performances, specifically by Dicaprio and Honshou, and thrilling set pieces are overshadowed by an unnecessary Hollywood love story subplot and a heavy handed after school special moralising. That being said, the drama can get real and raw when the movie touches on the legacy of colonialism, albeit briefly. The on location shooting brings a vibrancy to the film that lends it an air of authenticity, even though everything wraps up in a nice little bow so the audience doesn’t feel too bad.
