  It's a pretty slow film but in a way the beauty of the film comes from that. The main character slowly realises his place in the world, he strolls around, finds people to talk to, tries to find la grande bellezza.

  The politicians were so dumb, I wanted to punch them in the face. They made me actually annoyed. But everything else was funny and entertaining. Robert Pattinson is an incredible actor and he played his character(s) perfectly.

  There were parts which I hated but also loved. The sound design was great. Direction and colors too. I thought the characters were interesting to follow. But then at times the way the characters were acting didn't make sense. Of course, you could argue that this is the point - they were confused. But I don't think it was that. The script was just questionable in certain cases. 2.5 stars for right in the middle.

  For me, this was one of the more boring Ghibli films. Don't get me wrong, it was beautifully crafted and the story was endearing but that wasn't enough to entice me.
