The Black Hole 1979
Nothing THAT incredible but still there's something hypnotic about it to me. It has a cheesy old school doctor who/Roger Corman kind of charm but it manages to feel kind of menacing somehow. I think it's the kid-friendliness of it that doesn't let it be an outright horror show? It all kind of simmers just under the surface. On top of the acid trip colors, crazy score, and really cool production design, I ended up digging this a lot.

In the Mood for Love 2000
The words "Charlie Brown adult" leapt unbidden into my brain whenever they showed their spouses as vague unseen figures and made me laugh, I'm sorry. I could tell there were subtle things I wasn't catching that I'm going to need to rewatch and look for at some point.

I knew about the influence this had on Alien, but didn't expect…
