  upon rewatch, i’m less amused. sure it’s cute and light-hearted and captures the spirit of the book but why did they feel the need to make the most inconsequential character changes? why did they erase alex’s sister? why are his parents married? why does uma thurman talk like that? why is miguel not a storied older queer man in alex’s life, but a fame hungry twenty-something? his betrayal means to much less in this context. just took my ativan to calm down
