Compelling and heartfelt. Pie as a central motif is not something I've seen in a movie before, worked pretty fuckin good. I wonder what the weird dark goop they used for some of the batters was though, I remember in one scene it was chocolate, but it did not move around in the way I associate w melted chocolate.
