Fury 2014
to be fair I only half-watched this but that’s because I wrote it off in the first 15 minutes as “too modern feeling” for a WWII movie. maybe I’ve been watching too many films where no one really emotes on screen but this one was like, very Hollywood-y. and they said fuck a lot which I don’t think they did in the 40s. also the gun blasts looked like they were from Star Wars? for some reason the Germans had green and the yanks had red.

Highly relatable film for my girlies who suffer from hyperfixation and paranoid delusions. I loveeeee being breadcrumbed!

Mississippi Burning 1988
This movie is trying to give a well-rounded portrayal of different perspectives on racism in 1960s Mississippi. The problem is that it’s only giving us white perspectives. There are no fleshed out Black characters in a movie about racism in the south. How is that possible?
Mississippi Burning also wants us to believe that the FBI or LBJ ever gave a fuck about civil rights. With all that said, the performances are pretty fantastic all around and the movie is gripping as a crime thriller. (And yes I did watch this just to see young hot dyke Willem Dafoe - sue me!)Translated from by
