Had a marvelous time watching and crying at all the right parts. Similar plot points to Freddy Mercury’s story in Bohemian Rhapsody (genius creator and eccentric showman manipulated by awful managers and drug/alcohol addiction to numb pain, loss and depression). However, the musical twist gave it a different feel and Elton John’s unique style made this movie a must-see for me.

Silly. Just...goofy.

At times hard to watch, but easy to love. The characters are multi-faceted and Hill gives the viewer something to value in each of them. The context is integral to the story, not just a shtick. I wish the third act didn’t tie up so quickly—that we were left with a little bit more of “here’s where he goes from here”.
