I have a soft spot for this one, because it reminds me of the mistakes I made with several college girlfriends. That's ultimately what the story is about; both Sunmer and Tom learn from the mistakes they made in their brief relationship, and come out hurt at first but ultimately grow as people for it by the end

Was one of my favorite movies when I was a depressed, disaffected college student in the early 2000s, and recently watched it again for the first time in a decade to see if it held up. Roger Ebert called it "a well made film about reprehensible people" and yeah, it's true. The characters all get the bad endings they deserve, and Avary leaves it up to you to decide if they grew and learned their lesson or not

Cronenberg-style body horror in the tradition of Rabid, Videodrome, and The Fly. The vicious satire is a little heavy-handed, but it somehow makes the message more menacing and unsettling if anything. Best horror movie of the 2020s so far, by my reckoning

So over the top it crosses the event horizon over to awesome. Few movies pull that off
