Aftersun 2022
Aftersun moves between the past and the present like a half-remembered dream — falling asleep on the car ride home, lights washing over your face, safe and sound because your parents know everything and have it all under control. A moment where the armor slips, revealing that that isn’t the case at all. Realizing over time that we never really know the people who raised us as people at all. I’ve never seen a film get it so heartbreakingly right.
