Well this film knew what it wanted to explore. And it did that. Quite well actually.
There isn’t much more to this film than its premise and its twist ( which I predicted immediately, but I won’t knock it for that). But it doesn’t need much more. The film is just the right length to be a slow burning thoughtful film about an interesting struggle. And man there was one scene that got me harder than I was expecting.

So this film was disappointing.
There is some really good stuff in here, some great world building and very intriguing concepts. However, it doesn’t ever explore the context.
I loved the first third of the film. Some brilliant world building and flashbacks. However, after that when the film starts needing a plot we find that it doesn’t really have one and so it feels like various different sketches mushed together with not much direction or investment.

This film does what it sets out to do. And does it very well, even on the quadrillionth time watching it. Probably my most quoted film.
