  Kieran Culkin perfectly cast for the role of Kieran Culkin, and Jesse Eisenberg plays Jesse Eisenberg - in a good way! Lovely story, lovely shots of Poland, fully invested in the characters. Nice.

  Eggers plays with shadows in a harrowing re-imagining of the 1922 classic. Brilliant acting from a carefully curated cast (foremost from Lily-Rose Depp) plagued by a horrifying tache-weilding spectre of evil. Thoroughly enjoyable, with shots reminiscent of Golden Age Dutch paintings; a jump scare every other scene. Men are seen as bumbling buffoons.
