phoned in Hammer. Nowhere near up to the standard of most of the early 70's gear.

Cold Blood 1975
Decent 1970's German thriller with some wonderfully boring/liminal locations. Great wooden performance from Rutger Hauer and the henchman keeps calling him 'blondie'. 'Come on now blondie! No funny stuff' etc - you can find it on YouTube. It's dubbed from the original German.

Almost Human 1974
I'm relatively new to Politizzicio movies but have been watching a fair few on YouTube the last year or so. This is by *far* the best I've seen so far. A study in nihilism, with some truly superb wardrobe choices and locations. The seediest movie ever made? Quite possibly.

The Reckoning 1970
Whoa! this is a *killer* discovery. Very Get Carter esq. (though pre dates it by one year) - simple revenge thriller that riffs on the English class system: London to Liverpool. Nicol Williamson is great - Irish scouser who has 'sold his soul' to business/London - what a total bastard! Also, the locations are amazing. Liverpool looks so fucking bleak: still bomb craters after WW2. *Everything* is orange and brown. It's just pure 1970's. Can't believe it isn't more well known, tbh. I heard about it via Hull Noir literary festival. It's on YouTube.
