Not really sure how to feel tbh, and I would probably like it more if Sean Baker didn’t have a reputation for making movies about sex workers being put in really shitty circumstances. Like he makes great movies but why is that the main theme you enjoy?? I feel like he’d be the kind of customer to be a regular for months then as soon as you set a boundary he gets dances with other strippers during your shift to try and make you jealous lol

i wanted to like this so bad especially because so many people who i look to for good movie recommendations loved it. i respect the allegories it conveys, and the last 10 minutes were probably my favorite part. it was just so monotone, the dialogue felt so unnatural it made me cringe, and the blips of supernatural/blurring the lines between reality and imagination felt really abrupt. i did really enjoy the soundtrack!
