  Overall, I had a fun time watching this movie AND it’s obviously dated. The “one partner is closeted and the other isn’t” is tired. I hope Desiree would not make the same jokes at the expense of trans people now as she would then. I hope that she would not make a movie where she’s exclusively surrounded by white people. Though, I gotta say, a lot of first generation SWANA people whose family are middle/upper-middle class end up (unfortunately) surrounded…
